About Lawyers Funding Group, LLC
Alan R Zibelman
Lawyers Funding Group was founded in 2003 by an existing personal injury law firm to promote changes in the way litigation finance companies were doing business. Lawyers Funding has distinguished its services by providing predictable fixed fees contrary to the existing monthly or quarterly compounded fees.
Lawyers Funding Group maintains this business philosophy and the personal relationships with referring lawyers, which has allowed our Company the proud achievement of a marginal default ratio. Our competitors obtain financing from Wall Street capitalists secured by high debt in excess of 18% per annum on lines of credit making it impossible to compete with our FLAT fees. Lawyers Funding Group is therefore unique in both personal service and by providing its customers (i.e. lawyers and law firms) the opportunity to provide their clients with fast professional service and low prices. Lawyers can feel good about helping their clients without excessive leveraging of settlement proceeds.
We are also known as Lawyers Funding Group because we invite lawyers to become Investors while ensuring their capital is not invested in their own client’s claim or lawsuit to avoid any conflicts prohibited by the Rules of Professional Responsibility. Since 2012 LFG has offered working capital to law firms and provide a facility for attorneys to recover the tax deductible redemption fees by becoming a Member and offering similar assistance to another attorney or firm. Lawyers may even earn an Ethical and Legal Fees from clients with the proper consent and disclosures. See Resources.
Lawyers Funding Group offers state of the art interactive Internet database account management to allow attorneys to access and manage their individual accounts independently with an up-to-date status of all outstanding liens for their clients.
Since March 2005 the company is solely owned and managed by Alan R Zibelman, Esquire, an established, center city Philadelphia personal injury attorney. Mr. Zibelman is personally involved in underwriting and reviews and approves every application. Because of its organic growth and internal financing, Lawyers Funding does not vie to attain the highest possible receivables for the purpose of profiting on small margin spreads by refinancing of multi-million dollar portfolios, but rather works with referring lawyers to determine the appropriate amount of an advance to maintain the integrity of the settlement process. Mr. Zibelman enjoys educating about the “Best Practices” and has developed a CLE lecture series involving the ethics of legal finance and how to use this lending practice as an effective tool to help both clients and lawyers. We are proud members of the American Legal Finance Association and adhere to the Best Practices established by ALFA.
